hi

Dear friend
hi, I bought a laptop from a website: www.kauyps.com last week. I
have got the product. Its quality is very good and the price is
competitive. They also sell phones, TV, psp, motor and so on. By the
way, they import product from Korea and sell new and original
products. They have good reputation and have many good feedbacks. If
you need these products, look at this website will be a clever choice.
I am sure you will get many surprise and benefits.
Greetings!

Speakie Ingleesh? Berlaymonster on multilingualism

From the ever-entertaining Berlaymonster:

Speakie Ingleesh?

Moliere is turning in his grave and Goethe can be heard chuntering in his vault. Dante, meanwhile, is shaking his fist from the terraces of Mount Purgatory.

The European Commission has triggered their ire with a fabulous display of linguistic ineptitude.

This week, Friday 26 September is 'European Day of Languages'. Did you know that? Was it in your diary already? If not, why not, and shame on you etc.

In a programme published today for the week's activities (yes, the European 'Day' of Languages is to last a week), the commission trumpets a 'business platform', an awareness campaign entitled 'French, a rare language?', a 'fun' computer game on languages, and a conference on early language learning in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

The programme, however,

is only available in English...

OK, that was easy ... now join in yourself

Now that I've created this blog and gotten a look at its back office, I can see that I can allow other contributors simply by adding their email address there.

Makes sense. I was wondering whether they'd allow a blog to accept contributions to a generic address per blog (e.g., submit.mathew[at]posterous.com), but I was also wondering how they would help people cope with the resulting petabytes of splog.

That's OK. If people want to help out by posting stuff relevant to the European Public Space, they'll just have to email me and I'll add them to the contributor list. I've always seen this as an invitation-only sort of thing anyway.

I'll email in another post setting out how this could work soon. But if you came here (e.g., through Twitter) before I get around to it, just contact me.

Mathew

This could be useful ...

Could publishing really be this simple? I have absolutely no idea how posterous works, but I think that's the idea - it just works, and uses become apparent when trying it out.

So this is my first email to post@posterous.com, to try out the service and see what happens.

I do have a specific application in mind. While I'm sure to keep my current blog going, I've been looking for a way to enable a bunch of people like me share useful resources, posts, ideas and more around a central theme - building a European Public Space. Hopefully, we can all just email stuff to an email address, and see it turn up here. We'll see. I'll blog my experiences with it here, by email.
